We specialize in the complete year-round maintenance of lakeshore properties as well as other residential and commercial properties.

Our History

Kurt Maethner started operations in 1978.  As a seasonal resident on Lake Clitherall, Kurt, along with some occasional help from his brother Scott Maethner, began serving customers in his lake neighborhood.  The mode of transportation at that time was a Honda 3-wheeler and a small two-wheel trailer that held the 21" Push Lawn Mower.

In 1981, while working at a neighborhood farm, Kurt met and began working with partner and Underwood native, Charlie Worum.  The name KC (Kurt and Charlie) was born.  Kurt's brother Scott created the KC Lawn logo in 1983.  This is the logo that we continue to use today.  Kurt and Charlie operated the KC Lawn together through 1987.

Both Kurt and Charlie finished high school in the respective communities of St. Cloud, MN and Underwood, MN.  Kurt continued his education at St Cloud State University in the field of business finance and economics.  Charlie attended Alexandria Technical College and completed the avionics program.

After finishing college in 1989, Kurt decided to make Battle Lake, MN home. He currently resides on Lake Clitherall with his wife Tanya and daughter Addison. Kurt indicates that he is "very appreciative of our long term customers and our quality employees that have been part of KC Lawn's success over the past years".
